Louis Vuitton Kicks Goals In Style With An Elegant FIFA World Cup Collection

For the second time in a row, Louis Vuitton has linked up with FIFA to produce a refined leather goods capsule collection celebrating the quadrennial football event. Louis Vuitton and FIFA have had a working relationship since 2010, when the French luxury fashion house crafted the travel trunk for the official FIFA World Cup Trophy. In 2018, Louis Vuitton released its first FIFA World Cup leather goods collection, to commemorate the event held in Russia.

Designed especially for the 2022 FIFA World Cup series, Louis Vuitton has released a capsule collection of five pieces crafted from black Turillon leather. Comprising weekenders and everyday carry, the collection takes on a subdued, refined tone, eschewing references to obvious ‘football’ paraphernalia in favour of a refined motif. Each of the leather goods is embossed with the Louis Vuitton Damier motif, appearing across the exterior surfaces in a reimagined oversized waved pattern, designed to recall the movement of the net as a goal is scored.

The collection includes some of the maison’s most iconic silhouettes, like the Keepall 50, City Keepall, and Discovery Backpack, each featuring black metallic hardware and a leather tag shaped like a soccer league badge. Subtle nods to football appear throughout, with the Keepall 50 featuring five protective bottom studs, referencing the cleats worn by players. Small leather goods round out the capsule, including a dopp kit with contrasting piping and an adjustable handle.

The Louis Vuitton FIFA World Cup 2022 collection is now available via the Louis Vuitton webstore.
