Intensely electric and infused with sexual energy, the Loewe SS22 Men’s collection reaches out for human touch. The Spanish luxury fashion house turns to optimistic escapism, with creative director Jonathan Anderson permeating the collection with duality; silhouettes are both abstract and clean, while neutral colours intermingle with sweet candy hues.

Dually inspired by the work of New York-based German contemporary artist Florian Krewer and British fashion photographer David Sims (who shot a trippy photo series for the collection), the campaign is presented to guests in a box, which contains two books – one on Krewer and the other on Sims – along with four posters, a fluoro yellow leather slap bracelet, and three hundred (seems excessive, but we’ll take it) glow in the dark star stickers.
An ode to liberation with a touch of chaos, the Loewe SS22 Men’s Collection campaign presents its models as pin-ups, photographing them languishing, attending raves, and in moments of poised ‘surprise’. Pieces create a sense of distortion, with cutouts and strategic draping showing glimpses of body parts, coats bearing metal plaques on the back, and tops disintegrating into transparent layers. Never afraid of kitsch, all-over paillette and sequinned animal prints are heavily employed, while matching sets of tops and shorts or tops and trousers are warped by prints and decoration. Logo-patterned trench coats, leather parkas, and zip-up coats are cinched at the waist, roomy cargo shorts in earthy hues are teamed with draped tunics, cut-out multi-layer jumpers, all-in-ones, and space-dye neckerchief tops and trousers made of rope in acrylic colourways.
