The New Tommy Hilfiger TH Monogram Is Inspired By The Archives

American fashion house Tommy Hilfiger has introduced a new monogram, created in collaboration with lauded British illustrator and graphic designer Fergus Purcell. A definitively contemporary logo, the TH monogram reimagines the brand’s core DNA for the modern era.

The result of extensive archival research, the TH monogram is a reinterpretation of motifs Purcell found on iconic pieces from Tommy Hilfiger history. Taking on a form not dissimilar to the reworked Riccardo Tisci-era Burberry monogram, the new Tommy Hilfiger monogram comprises an interlocking T and H, and represents a new outlook on classic prep sensibility.

“Since 1985, the ‘TH’ monogram has stood for authentic prep style, playfully reinvented for all,” says Tommy Hilfiger, founder of the eponymous brand. “Fergus Purcell has been a truly inspiring collaborator. His elevated approach and connection to street culture is unique. It has been a joy to reinvent our monogram with him – for 2022 and beyond.”

“What I love about the brand is that it’s high impact; very colourful, very confident and very

immediate,” adds Purcell. “These were the inspirations that drove my design, and the desire to make something that was new and iconic but also felt as though it could have existed already. I’m very pleased with the results!”

The new interlocked TH monogram will feature in the upcoming Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2022 collection, with pieces like puffer jackets, accessories, skirts, and stockings getting the all-over treatment.
