Beyoncé Serenades Jay-Z With A Rendition Of Moon River For Tiffany & Co.

Following their debut photographic campaign with Tiffany & Co., Beyoncé and Jay-Z appear in a short film for the iconic New York City jewellery house. While the photographic side of their About Love campaign – staged in front of a never-before-seen Basquiat – took a more aspirational approach to love, the short film opts for a softer, more romantic approach.

Directed by acclaimed director Emmanuel Adjei and captured by Jay-Z on a Super 8 camera, the film sees Beyoncé serenade her husband with a rendition of the classic song Moon River. Composed by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini, Moon River was made famous by Audrey Hepburn, who sings it in the classic 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Accompanied by a piano, Beyoncé makes the song her own as Jay-Z looks on lovingly.

Shot at the Orum House in Los Angeles, a location handpicked by the Carters, the film weaves nostalgic flashbacks between cinematic visuals. Being a Tiffany & Co. campaign, diamonds make the ideal accouterment to Beyoncé’s buttery vocals, with the singer clad in an array of diamond intensive pieces, including the famed Tiffany Diamond. Meanwhile, Jay-Z wears Jean Schlumberger’s legendary Bird on a Rock brooch that Tiffany artisans reimagined as a pair of one-of-a-kind cuff links.

As a part of the House’s collaboration with the Carters, Tiffany & Co. has partnered with BeyGOOD and the Shawn Carter Foundation to create the Tiffany & Co. About Love Scholarship Program which has pledged USD $2M in scholarship funding for students in the arts and creative fields at Historically Black Colleges and Universities across America.
