Off the back of the futuristic dystopian collection unveiled for FW22, Dion Lee has tapped singer-songwriter Grimes to star in his latest SS22 campaign. Dually a collection campaign and an extension of the singer’s upcoming album, BOOK 1, the collection is lensed by Bryan Huynh in collaboration with art director Henry Thomas and CGI artist Rodolfo Hernande.

Set within an icy mythical landscape, the images depict Grimes perched atop chrome-laden cyber human architecture. Styled with long white hair and red eye makeup she did herself (using paintbrushes rather than makeup brushes), Grimes, born Claire Elise Boucher, told Vogue she had been a fan of Dion Lee for a long time and was attracted to working with him for his “medieval sci-fi energy.”
Shot near her home in Austin, Texas, the campaign features Grimes wearing Dion Lee SS22 pieces that hero sculptural tailoring and luminous fabrics like silicon wave lace and engineered lattice netting.
