Spanish luxury fashion house Loewe has released a chic gift box sure to appease passionate Loewe fans. Containing five iconic Loewe handbags – the Puzzle, Hammock, Gate, Flamenco, and Balloon – shrunken down to miniature ‘nano’ size, the gift box itself draws upon Japanese craftsmanship.

Based on the traditional kiribako containers used for gifting precious keepsakes, the gift box is crafted from Paulownia wood in Japan and features the Loewe anagram emblazoned on the lid. Each nano bag takes form in signature Loewe colourways; Yellow, Primary Red, Candy, Lagoon, and Rosemary, with the compartment for each bag lined in the corresponding colour. Of particular note are the nano Gate and Hammock bags which are exclusive to the box in this size. Meanwhile, the colours of the nano Puzzle, Balloon, and Flamenco are also exclusive to the collector’s box.
In a final nod to its Japanese artisan inspiration, the box is tied together with sananda-himo cord; a narrow, tightly woven fabric originally used by samurais to bind their armour. Over time, the functionality of the cord meant it was adapted for other tasks, with varying colourways used to represent different families and clans. Combining artisan craftsmanship from the house’s atelier in Madrid with historical Japanese artisanship, the Loewe Nano Collector’s box is a homage to intercultural artistry.
