Michael Kors x 007 Film Franchise Team Up On A Glamourous Capsule Collection

The Name’s Kors. Michael Kors.

With its ubiquity meaning everyone and their dog has a Michael Kors, the American fashion house has long been trying to regain its status as a luxury brand. Now, Michael Kors has aligned itself with the 007 film franchise, unveiling their second capsule collection in the form of a resort collection. Starring Bella Hadid and Cindy Bruna, the campaign was shot at The Ocean Club, the same destination featured in Casino Royale

James Bond, license to…license?
From Rolex and Omega to Gordon’s Gin and now Nokia and Michael Kors, Bond films have always been synonymous with product placement. However Bond author Ian Fleming claimed this initially wasn’t for financial reasons, stating: “My books are spattered with branded products of one sort of another as I think it is stupid to invent names for products which are household words.”

Infused with the suave sophistication exuded by James Bond, the 11-piece capsule takes on a black and metallic gold colour palette which meld with the Michael Kors all-over monogram print. Comprising bags, luggage, accessories, and ready-to-wear items like a scuba-style zip-up swimsuit, the collection is designed with a jet set lifestyle in mind.

“I love the independence and the multifaceted character of each different Bond girl,” says Hadid. “She can be ANYTHING and everything. Anywhere and nowhere. Classic, cool and independent.” Bruna concurs, adding that, “I’ve always been obsessed with James Bond, so being part of this campaign was such an incredible experience. I love the suspense and mystery that comes out of every film as well as the results of this shoot. It was such a thrill to be part of it!”

The Michael Kors x 007 capsule collection is available on the Michael Kors webstore.
