This year, Vacheron Constantin celebrates its 270th anniversary, making it the oldest continually operating manufacture in the world. With that in mind, Vacheron Constantin’s Watches & Wonders 2025 releases celebrate the manufacture’s rich watchmaking traditions, combining classic aesthetics with exacting technical standards. Focusing its attention on its stable of dress watches, Vacheron Constantin has iterated on its Traditionnelle and Patrimony collections this year. Let’s dive into it.
Traditionnelle Manual Winding

Vacheron Constantin’s Traditionelle collection pays homage to the traditions of 18th-century Genevan haute horology, with its key signatures including stepped lugs, a fluted caseback, and a slimline bezel. Meanwhile, watchmaking tradition is seen in the railway minutes track, faceted Dauphine-style hands, and applied gold baton-type hour-markers.
The Traditionelle Manual Winding is presented in a 38mm case crafted from rose gold or platinum, with both case metal options housing a dial with a geometric motif inspired by the Maltese Cross, created to celebrate the manufacture’s anniversary. The Traditionnelle Manual Winding is powered by the in-house calibre 4400 AS/270, which is decorated with a côte unique finish and engraved with the anniversary emblem.

Traditionnelle Moon Phase

The Traditionnelle Moon Phase is housed within a 36mm rose gold case with a diamond-set bezel. It’s powered by the in-house calibre 1410 AS/270, an astronomical moonphase movement which only needs to be adjusted once every 122 years. The mother-of-pearl dial is decorated with the aforementioned geometric motif, while the minutes track, power reserve indicator, and moonphase display are bathed in pink tones.

Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date

Vacheron Constantin’s Patrinomy timepieces are known for their ultra-thin profiles, inspired by the timepieces the manufacture produced during the 1950s. The minimalist style is defined by its round case with a slim bezel, a subtly domed dial with curved applied hour indices, and curved baton hands. The new Patrimony Moon Phase Retrograde Date sees the 42.5mm rose or white gold timepiece fitted with an astronomical moonphase display at 6 o’clock and a retrograde date indication on the upper half of the dial. It’s powered by the in-house calibre 2460 R31L/270, an automatic movement with a 40-hour power reserve.

Patrimony Self-Winding

Finally, the refreshingly pared-back Patrimony Self-Winding is housed in a 40mm white or rose gold case, which has a silver dial embellished with the 270th anniversary motif. The time-and-date model displayed the hours, minutes, and central seconds and has a dainty date window at 6 o’clock. It’s powered by the in-house 2450 Q6/270, an automatic movement with a stop-second system to allow for precise time setting.

Traditionnelle Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar

In 2005, Vacheron Constantin celebrated its 250th anniversary with the launch of the Saint-Gervais reference, a manually wound movement with a tourbillon regulator and a perpetual calendar with four barrels, bestowing it with an impressive 250-hour power reserve. Two decades on, the manufacture has united the complication and the regulatory movement in a new automatic calibre, the 2162 QP/270. The new movement is based on the calibre 2160 (from the 2018 Traditionelle Self-Winding Tourbillon), which was redesigned to accommodate the additional complication without adding thickness.
The new movement is housed within the Traditionnelle Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar, which takes form in a 42mm platinum case. The gold dial features hand-guilloché decoration and is fitted with applied gold hour markers and Dauphine hands. The perpetual calendar displays the day of the week, date, and month using a tricompax subdial layout on the upper half of the dial, with a leap year indicator between 2 and 3 o’clock. The lower half of the dial houses a tourbillon, a regulatory movement—not a complication!—that compensates for the effects of gravity on the balance-spring’s isochronism.

Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Retrograde Date Openface

Here, the classic Traditionnelle case is used as a canvas to celebrate two Vacheron Constantin signatures; the skeletonised dial and retrograde display. The first of three 370-piece limited edition platinum models, the Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Retrograde Date Openface is powered by the new in-house calibre 2460 QPR31/270, an automatic movement with a perpetual calendar (displaying the days, months, leap-year cycle) and moon phases as well as a retrograde date display.

Traditionnelle Tourbillon Retrograde Date Openface

The Traditionnelle Tourbillon Retrograde Date Openface is rendered in platinum and powered by the in-house automatic calibre 2162 R31/270, which beats at 18,000 vibrations per hour and maintains thin proportions thanks to the use of a peripheral gold oscillating weight. It combines a tourbillon at 6 o’clock with a retrograde date on the upper half of the skeletonised dial.

Les Cabinotiers Tribute To The Tour De L’île

A trio of one-off editions pays homage to the Tour de l’Île, a Genevan landmark with ties to Vacheron Constantin. Located on a small island in the middle of the Rhône River, the Tour De L’île is the remnant of a fortified castle built in the 13th century to defend Geneva, with bridges linking the two sides of the Rhône via the island allowing Geneva to become a major crossroads for European trade. The three Tribute To The Tour De L’île timepieces celebrate the savoir-faire of Vacheron Constantin’s master engravers, enamellers, and guillocheurs. Each timepiece depicts the Tour de l’Île through a different form of métiers d’art.
The first model features a miniature grand feu enamel dial in pastel shades that perfectly complement the platinum case surrounding it. The second piece, also cased in platinum, combines guilloché with grand feu enamel dial, while the third is encased in rose gold and features a finely engraved rose gold dial.

Les Cabinotiers Solaria Ultra Grand Complication

Vacheron Constantin has rounded out its Watches & Wonders 2025 releases by asserting itself as the grandaddy of complications. Off the back of last year’s Berkley Grand Complication (i.e. the most complicated watch ever made), our favourite third of the Holy Trinity has released the most complicated wristwatch ever made. The Les Cabinotiers Solaria Ultra Grand Complication boasts 41 complications within a surprisingly well proportioned timepiece; with the in-house hand-wound calibre 3655 fitting 1521 components into a white gold case measuring 45mm in diameter and 14.99mm thick.
On the complications side of things, the Les Cabinotiers Solaria Ultra Grand Complication combines a slew of classic time measurement complications with a chronograph, perpetual calendar, astronomical measurements, lunar indications, and a minute repeater to top it all off. Oh, it’s also got a tourbillon — but as our readers know, that’s a regulatory mechanism and not a complication. We’ve gone into more detail on the Les Cabinotiers Solaria Ultra Grand Complication here, but rest assured, it’s a worthy assertion of Vacheron Constantin’s peerless technical prowess and innovative spirit.
