In The Loupe: The Watch News To Know In December 2025

All the watch news and industry updates you need to know in December 2025.

The year may be winding down, but much like a double mainspring barrel watch (Chopard L.U.C. Quattro, anyone), the watch industry remains perpetually wound up. Last month, we saw a slew of watches drop for Dubai Watch Week and a selection of brands receive their flowers at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. Naturally, we’re back with the December 2025 edition of In The Loupe, our monthly watch news series recapping all the latest, greatest, and oftentimes bonkers timepiece releases worth knowing about, as well as key watch industry news.

As last month was something of a blockbuster, we’re kicking off our December 2025 watch news by showcasing some of the timepieces that may have slipped through the cracks; while the mellifluous chimes of the undeniably impressive Blancpain Villeret Grande Double Sonnerie and the Chopard L.U.C Grand Strike rang out across the watch industry, you might have missed De Bethune’s new DB Kind of Two Jumping GMT and a fun collaboration from Fears that draws upon the modernist De Stijl art movement. That, and more, in this month’s In The Loupe below.

December 2025 watch news

Herewith, all the watch news you need to know in December 2025. As always, we’ll be updating In The Loupe daily, so ensure you clock in to stay up to date.

  • The model has appeared in tourbillon form before, but now the independent watch brand has released the Kind of Two Jumping GMT which comes in a 43.3mm titanium case with a mirror-polished finish
  • The first dial takes on a traditional tone, with an anthracite base with a hand-guilloché centre, topped with applied gilded numerals and fitted with a dead-beat (jumping) seconds complication
  • The second dial is skeletonised and exposes the movement within, displaying the hours on a subdial surrounding the balance wheel at 6 o’clock and the minutes on the periphery
  • It’s powered by the in-house calibre DB2517, a manually wound movement that can display two time zones (both adjustable by the same crown). It features two mainspring barrels, which contribute to its 96-hour power reserve
