The Hermès Slim d’Hermès Cheval Brossé is an abstract impressionist timepiece for horse-loving horologists

  • Hermès turns the dial into a canvas with the Slim d’Hermès Cheval Brossé
  • The timepiece shows off the French maison’s artistic side, with an azure grand feu enamel dial serving as a canvas for an abstract pad printing formed from multi-coloured brushstrokes
  • Crafted by designer Dimitri Rybaltchenko, the resultant painting depicts the profile of a horse in abstracted form
  • The equine imagery sits within a 39.50mm white gold case; the clean and minimalistic Slim d’Hermès which was designed by Philippe Delhotal in 2015
  • The timepiece is powered by the ultra-thin calibre H1950, an automatic micro-rotor movement made by Vaucher and customised for Hermès, which offers 48 hours of power reserve

The Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch 1965 pays homage to a pivotal date for Omega and NASA

There’s no shortage of Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch releases on the market; from moonphases and Moonshine Gold hands to Snoopy variants, the Swatch Group duo have been milking the bioceramic timepieces dry since their launch in 2022. However, the latest release is one worth taking note of.

  • The Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch 1965 pays homage to the first watch worn on the moon — the Omega Speedmaster ST105.003 worn by Buzz Aldrin (ole mate Neil Armstrong left his on Apollo 11)
  • Coinciding with the 60th anniversary of the first moon landing, the Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch 1965 has the same specs as its stablemates — a 42mm light grey Bioceramic case paired with a colour-matched velcro strap, powered by a quartz chronograph movement
  • However, the dial switches things up. It’s stark white and complemented by black details, including a vintage Omega logo at 12 o’clock which is applied rather than painted or printed on
  • The subdial at 2 o’clock counts up to 65 minutes while the one at 10 o’clock counts up to 19 hours — a functional little nod to the year of the moon landing

Price: $435AUD

Movement: quartz
Water resistance: 3ATM

Omega releases a precious metal Seamaster Diver 300M inspired by a Bond-approved reference

  • The new reference is based on a Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition, which was launched in 2020 for Daniel Craig’s final hurrah as James Bond in No Time to Die
  • The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Bronze Gold & Burgundy is similarly Daniel Craig-approved, with the actor sporting the timepiece prior to its release during an appearance at the Governors Awards
  • As with Omega’s last few Seamaster Diver 300M releases (like this black and silver one duly sported by Mr. Craig), the newcomer appears sans date window which lends it a cleaner aesthetic
  • The timepiece comes on a bronze gold mesh bracelet or a black rubber strap

Hublot welcomes MMA fighter Alexander Volkanovski as Friend of the Brand

Alexander ‘The Great’ Volkanovski has a powerful force in his corner, having just joined Hublot as a Friend of the Brand. Despite many mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters sporting luxury watches out of the octagon, the appointment marks the first time a MMA athlete has joined a luxury watch brand on official terms as an ambassador. Volkanovski is widely considered one of the greatest fighters of his generation, with the Australian athlete holding the title of UFC Featherweight Champion from 2019 to 2024 and currently ranked number 1 in the division.

“I’m so excited to become a Hublot Friend of the Brand,” said Alexander Volkanovski of his new role. “Honestly, I couldn’t have imagined when I first got into MMA nearly 15 years ago that I’d one day be able to say I’m with Hublot. It’s such a huge honour to be the first fighter in MMA history to work with Hublot and to partner with a Swiss watch company. Hublot’s story and style are a perfect fit for me. I love how daring the company is with its designs and movements. They’re not afraid to take risks, try new things and do things differently, which is my story and the story of my sport, too.”

The partnership is an apt one; if there’s any brand up for the task of uniting the seemingly dichotomous worlds of luxury watchmaking and MMA, it’s Hublot. The Swiss manufacture has already proved itself adept at the art of fusion, being the first to pair a gold watch with a rubber strap almost half a century ago.

Audemars Piguet opens AP House in Singapore

  • Audemars Piguet has opened AP House within Singapore’s iconic Raffles Hotel
  • AP House takes over the hotel’s Bar and Billiard Room, transporting visitors into the world of Audemars Piguet. The interior decor draws from the brand’s home in Le Brassus, with the colour palette reflective of the verdant nature that surrounds the manufacture while incorporating local flair
  • AP House Singapore is also home to the Audemars Piguet’s inaugural AP Café, which serves up Swiss dishes reimagined with a Singaporean culinary perspective
  • The AP House concept imagines how the brand’s founders would live in the 21st century, acting as an elevated locale for well-heeled watch lovers to gather. AP House Singapore joins over 20 AP Houses in cities like Amsterdam, Bangkok, Milan, New York, Tokyo, and Zurich
