If You Squint, The Nike x Jacquemus Collab Is Almost An AF1

Jacquemus x Nike is coming…again. Following two sell-out collaborations, the latter of which saw the duo release a hot pink take on the Nike Air Humara, the French fashion label and the American sportswear giant have once again teamed up to take on Nike’s core silhouettes. This time, the Jacquemus x Nike collaboration sees designer Simon Porte Jacquemus turn his eye to the instantly recognisable Nike Air Force 1.

After the Jacquemus treatment, it’s…not so recognisable. Dubbed the ‘J Force 1s’ the collaborative sneakers see the signature leather upper of the Air Force 1 transposed onto a chunky sole interlaced with woven wraparound nylon cording. This design detail is inspired by the Nike ACG Terra, which Jacquemus shares is one of his “fav shoes ever,” on an Instagram post.

The metal lace dubrae is engraved with ‘JF1’, while the perforated vamps and mesh tongue remain standard. Like the previous Jacquemus x Nike Humara sneakers, the Swoosh is sized down and rendered in delicate metal while the heel bears collaborative branding.

The hybridised sneaker is priced at $295AUD and is available in black and white, with both sure to sell out come the 13th of June.
