H. Moser & Cie. Have Annotated An Endeavour Perpetual Calendar

Need A Cheat Sheet For Your Watch? H. Moser & Cie. Have Got You Covered

You: I don’t know how to use a perpetual calendar. H. Moser & Cie.: Say no more.

The horological equivalent of an open book quiz, the new H. Moser & Cie. wears its functions on its dial, providing an annotated description of each component. Dubbed the Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Tutorial, the limited-edition watch is a commemorative release of the timepiece that contributed to H. Moser & Cie.’s revival in 2015, the Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Funky Blue.

Limited to 20 examples, the Endeavor Perpetual Calendar Tutorial predominantly features the same specs as the Funky Blue edition, albeit with a handy cheat sheet. The 42mm watch features a sunburst fumé dial with the H. Moser & Cie. logo in a new transparent lacquer. Encased in 18-karat white gold and sitting on a beige kudu leather strap, it’s equal parts bold and elegant. Much like the original Funky Blue model, the Endevaour Perpetual Calendar Tutorial features leaf-shaped hands, a small arrow-shaped centre hand to indicate the month, a small seconds display, and a big date window. Where it differs is that it points all these key elements out right on the dial itself. In white text, little tidbits explain the watch’s various settings and functions, mentioning everything from the date window to power reserve. There’s also a yellow stripe emblazoned with the words “very rare” pointing at the date.

According to H. Moser & Cie., the cheeky “perpetual calendar for dummies” was created to “aid those who may still wonder how their perpetual calendar works.” The resultant effect works to transform “complication designed for the most discerning of collectors into a watch that even a child could operate.”

The release of the Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Tutorial is the latest in a series of timepieces that have cemented H. Moser & Cie.’s reputation as the enfant terrible of the haute horology world. Other notable watches include the H. Moser Swiss Icons watch, an irreverent mishmash of iconic features from the likes of Rolex, Cartier, IWC Schaffhausen, Panerai, Hublot, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Girard-Perregaux, and Breguet; a Swiss Mad watch, with a crown made from Swiss Cheese; and a mechanical Swiss Alp watch with a dial that resembles an Apple Watch.

Both the Endeavor Perpetual Calendar Tutorial and updated Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Funky Blue are available on the H. Moser & Cie. webstore, priced at $65,000 USD and $60,000 USD, respectively.
