Escapism continues to be the name of the game in the fashion world. Whether it’s Versace fragrance shot off the coast of Sicily, Chanel on the French Riviera, Saint Laurent in Iceland, or indeed, Miu Miu in the Dolomites, it seems every luxury brand is taking the vacation we can’t. Don’t worry, they’re always quick to assure you it’s for ‘work’. Now, Italian luxury fashion house Miu Miu is taking to the sea with the Miu Miu Maritime capsule collection.

Described as a “voyage to new territories,” the Miu Miu Maritime collection captures the energy of exploration and excitement. The breezy capsule collection fuses traditionally masculine elements like flap collars, wide shoulders, and a utilitarian focus with inherently feminine touches; think softly rounded sleeves, lacey details, bows, and ruffles.
Shot by photographer Johnny Dufort at the Plage de Bon-Secours in Saint-Malo, France, the collection has us fantasising about engaging in an entanglement with a pirate, à la Dona in Daphne du Maurier’s Frenchman’s Creek.
The collection is available on the Miu Miu webstore.
