The Bang & Olufsen Legacy Collection Looks Back On Almost A Century Of Sound

Since 1925, Bang & Olufsen has united beautiful sound with good design. Now, the luxury audio brand is looking back over the past century with the Legacy Collection. Currently in Melbourne, the pop-up exhibition goes back in time to revisit some of the heritage archival products that played a role in shaping the brand’s reputation.

Bang & Olufsen has been responsible for shaping some of the key home design trends throughout history, pioneering the creation of universal remote controls and connected home speaker setups, as well as reinventing the aesthetic of the turntable. Delivering a healthy dose of nostalgia, the Legacy Collection exhibition comprises a baker’s dozen of heritage products, with highlights including the Beovision Capri TV from 1959, defined by elegant teak wood and the Beomaster 1900 read receiver from 1976.

The exhibition coincides with the launch of the new Upgrade Service Kit for the Beogram 4000 series, allowing customers to bring in their 1970s turntables and have them restored for the modern world and attached to contemporary speakers. The Upgrade Service Kit is in line with Band & Olufsen’s commitment to a circular economy and the promotion of responsible consumption, by creating innovative solutions that extend the life of their products indefinitely.

Located in the new Richmond, Melbourne store, the Bang & Olufsen Legacy Collection is on display this month before going on a global tour.
