So…who’s the creative director of menswear at Dior? If you answered Kim Jones, you’d be correct — last week. At the time of writing, Jones has resigned from his post at Dior, with the role yet to be filled. This year marks Golden Goose’s 25th anniversary, with the Born to be a Super-Star campaign acting as the first of many celebratory moments for the brand.
The Super-Star sneaker was designed in 2007 and was the first Golden Goose style to feature a star, an emblem the brand has since become known for. Conceived following a visit to Venice Beach, the Super-Star draws inspiration from the Los Angeles skate scene, pairing the clean form of a Seventies derby upper with a rugged nature of a skateboarding shoe.

Ottessa Moshfegh has written a book of short stories for Prada

At the tail end of last year, co-creative directors Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons presented a womenswear collection designed to capture “the unpredictability of human nature” through 49 diverse looks. Rejecting curated themes and even cohesion, the Prada SS25 womenswear collection was eclectic and bold, representing what Prada and Simons deemed “a Prada for every individual.”
The collection was followed by the release of a campaign shot by Steven Meisel which sees actress Carey Mulligan transform into a different character depending on the clothing she puts on. Now, Prada has further fleshed out said individuals, tapping My Year of Rest and Relaxation author Ottessa Moshfegh to pen ten short stories, each of which imagines the life behind one of Mulligan’s characters.
The resultant work has been released as a limited edition hardcover book titled Ten Protagonists.

Pete Davidson is the Perfect Boyfriend™ for Reformation

Pete Davidson has long played the ideal ephemeral boyfriend for emerging and established female celebrities looking to promote a new project or reinvigorate their image. And it’s a role he’s played well, with Davidson having played the supporting role for the likes of Kim Kardashian, Margaret Qualley, Kate Beckinsale, Kaia Gerber, Phoebe Dynevor, Chase Sui Wonders, Emily Ratajkowski, and Madelyn Cline. It’s a role he’s played so well that we almost forgot he first emerged into the (mainstream) public eye as the boyfriend—and subsequently short-term fiancé—of Ariana Grade.
Following a shockingly long stint (over half a year!) away from the arm of the latest ingénue or recent divorcee, Pete Davidson has been scrubbed clean and de-tattooed for Reformation. In a campaign for the sustainably minded clothing brand, Davidson relishes his role as the Perfect Boyfriend™, proclaiming to be a partner who “supports your decisions and is invested in your happiness.”
“I’m someone’s boyfriend, and I take that seriously,” he says. Ready to complement the next beautiful and talented woman ready to accept him, Pete Davidson for Reformation is the kind of boyfriend who is willing to sit on the designated Boyfriend Couch™ for hours while you try on clothes, is in touch (perhaps a little too in touch) with his feelings, and listens to your dreams.
In short: boyfriend material. Reformation’s other boyfriend material is of the cotton variety, with the brand launching a sweatshirt and men’s style boxer briefs (cut to fit women).

Sabato De Sarno departs Gucci

The latest move in the game of creative director musical chairs that’s been unfolding over the past couple of years? Sabato De Sarno has departed Gucci after just two years. De Sarno joined the Italian luxury fashion house in 2023, with his restrained aesthetic representing a departure from the maximalist approach of his predecessor Alessandro Michele (who made his Valentino haute couture debut last month). De Sarno posited a stripped back take on Gucci signatures — not ‘quiet luxury’ per se, but decidedly more wearable.
Calling cards of De Sarno’s time at Gucci include a combination of practical details executed in elevated fabrications and embellishments rendered in a way that felt sleeker, lighter, and sexier than his predecessor; think beaded slip-like fringe dresses paired with loafers and crystal embellished tank tops tamed with jeans. Looking to the archives, De Sabato’s short but sweet tenure at Gucci also marked the reintroduction of platform loafers and the remixed shade ‘Rosso Ancora’ (meaning ‘red again’ in Italian), the latter of which has become emblematic of his time at the helm of the Italian luxury fashion house.
“I would like to express my deep gratitude to Sabato for his passion and dedication to Gucci,” said Gucci CEO Stefano Cantino of De Sabato’s departure. “I sincerely appreciate how he honoured Gucci’s craftsmanship and heritage with such commitment.”

Måneskin’s Damiano David joins the Bulgari family

Bulgari has announced Damiano David as its newest global ambassador. The Måneskin frontman joins fellow Bulgari ambassadors Anne Hathaway and Zendaya in the role.

It is an honor for me to join the Bulgari family.”
The announcement of David’s appointment was accompanied by a quartet of images that see him modelling the Bvlgari Bvlgari watch which dates back to 1977 and was relaunched at LVMH Watch Week last year, as well as jewellery from the Italian luxury fashion house’s iconic Serpenti collection.
Salomon showcases the XT-Whisper in campaign starring the Gohar sisters

Salomon showcases the varied character of its XT-Whisper trail racing sneaker in a campaign starring the Gohar sisters. Shot in New York City library, the campaign stars sisters Laila, Nadia, and Janna Gohar, who each put their own idiosyncratic spin on the shoe. The XT-Whisper was designed to answer the call for more female-specific products in the market and began its journey as the women’s version of the XT Hawk trail shoe. Part of the XT design lineage, the XT-Whisper forgoes the hard lines of the XT Hawk in favour of a softer aesthetic, creating textural interplay though layered cutouts and elevated finishes. Contrasting details have been updated with a new wavy Sensifit application while the original Quicklace technology remains, delivering a secure foothold and comfortable fit.
The XT-Whisper will be available in four new colourways—Oxford Tan, Black, White, and Ashes of Roses—from the 4th of February.

Loewe launches the Ballet Runner 2.0

Loewe revamps its Ballet Runner silhouette. First introduced in 2019, the Ballet Runner was defined by its asymmetrical toe box fused with the aesthetic of a ’70s running shoe. Here, the refreshed Ballet Runner 2.0 features a redesigned ‘L’ monogram on the quarter and embossed anagram on the tongue and a wavy textured rubber outsole that extends onto the top of the toe box. The sneaker utilises Sacchetto construction, which sees the leather lining stitched to the insole to create an internal sock-like structure, somewhat reminiscent of a ballet shoe.

David Beckham strips off for BOSS ONE Bodywear collection

Former footballer and Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham gets his kit off for BOSS. The German fashion brand has launched its BOSS ONE Bodywear collection, which comprises men’s underwear essentials including trunks, briefs, tank tops, and t-shirts in neutral tones. Designed to act as a second skin, pieces are crafted from a blend of cotton and elastane. Shot by photographic duo Mert and Marcus, the accompanying campaign sees Beckham arrive at some sort of dark, grungy setting and proceed to strip down to his underwear and take a shower after a long day of doing something that involves wearing a suit. Dua Lipa fronts Chanel 25 handbag campaign

Dua Lipa has strengthened her relationship with Chanel, with the singer-songwriter announced as the new face of the masion’s 25 handbag. A direct descendant of the Chanel 2.55, the Chanel 25 handbag is a product of its time. Crafted from lightweight quilted leather, it features structured yet slouchy construction that sees two rigid sides bookend the supple middle section. Available in three sizes, the Chanel 25 features exposed outer pockets with Chanel’s CC hardware and signature interlaced leather chain, taking on a youthful aesthetic. The accompanying campaign starring Dua Lipa matches this energy with a film captured by Gordon von Steiner. Laden with ’90s nostalgia, the short film sees Lipa navigate the streets of New York to the beat of Fine Young Cannibals’ She Drives Me Crazy, accompanied by the stylishly functional Chanel 25 handbag.
“I’m obsessed with this bag,” says Dua Lipa. “It’s the perfect kind of bag for me as someone who’s always on the move and likes to carry around everything, especially because it’s got these great pockets for all my favourite things. There’s a place for my books, a place for my sunglasses, maybe a notebook or two, and even a place for my crystals. It’s just the perfect everyday bag!”
The full campaign includes imagery shot by David Sims, which will be revealed in March.

Rimowa goes gothic with Rick Owens

Rimowa is no stranger to collaborations, having teamed up with everyone from Tiffany & Co. and Aimé Leon Dore to Porsche. However, its latest collaboration just might be its most impactful, with the with the German luxury luggage joining forces with Rick Owens to create a decidedly different take on its Original Cabin. True to his moniker as the Lord of Darkness, Rick Owens has lent his gothic touch to the carry-on suitcase.
The Rimowa x Rick Owens Original Cabin Bronze sees Rimowa’s signature grooved aluminium shell undergo a manually applied pigmentation process, resulting in a unique patinated finish which nods to Owens’ love of cast bronze sculpture. Inside, the suitcase is the first release from Rimowa to feature a fully leather interior, a result of Owens’ desire to have it feel “like the touch of a black leather glove.”
“NO MATTER HOW FAR OR LONG, I ONLY BRING ONE CARRY-ON,” said Rick Owens in his usual demure fashion, caps lock key firmly jammed in place. “I DON’T NEED MUCH, BUT I LIKE MY BARE NECESSITIES TO BE AS SUPERNATURAL AS POSSIBLE.”
Fair enough. Limited to 500 pieces, the spectacularly supernatural carry-on suitcase is priced at approx. $5675AUD ($3525USD) and comes with Rimowa’s lifetime guarantee.
